Alessandro Rampazzo, Italian photojournalist and videomaker, born in 1986 and at the moment based in Finland.

I started working as professional photoreporter in 2010 in a local newspaper. After some months I decided to leave local stories to experiment the international context. I decided to move to Tunisia first, and then to Egypt to cover the so called Arab Spring. In the next two years I have been working mainly in the North Africa region with stories focused on the aftermath of the revolution mainly in Tunisia and Egypt, covering elections, demonstrations, “second/third revolutions” and a part of the process of post revolution. I've worked also in Greece, Patras, documenting the sub-Saharan migrants looking for a better life in Europe. After two years of international stories I decided to come back to Italy to work in my home land for some time. Here I focused mainly on society stories related to the changes and produced a work, No More Words, about the beginning of the intensive use of smartphones in our daily life. In 2014 I visited Brazil to work on environmental and social stories, and Albania for on a long term project on Gjakmarrja, or blood feud.

Since 2015 I’m based in Finland focussing my attention on north Europe and the Baltics. Here I developed a new approach to my photography focussing my production more on long term project. In Latvia I’ve been working on a story about depopulation and its effects on the former Soviet Union country.

Lately I’ve been focussing my production on women’s issues realising a long term project about domestic violence in Finland and a reportage about abortion in Poland.

Founding member of Collettivo Fotosocial, an Italian collective reporting on social issues.
