Sao Paulo is the biggest city of the whole South America with an estimated population of almost 20 million people.
Because of its very large population and the social conditions the city can be very dangerous. Sao Paulo is considered the most violent city of Brazil. Violence, and the fear of it, shapes everything about the city. It means the well-off live behind high walls and shop in malls that employ armed guards rather than on the street.
Higienopolis is on of the most rich neighborhood of the Brazilian megalopoli. Medium-high class people live in the area, protected by every kind of security measures, from fences to control cameras and electric wire.
