In the summer of 2014, Brazil hosted the football world cup. Since before the beginning of the sport event many protests broke out as to underline the inequity of the Brazilian society. One of the slogan was "a world cup not for the people" meaning with this that all the infrastructures and the money spent for the preparation of the event where all spent in things that people would not be able to benefit of, and asking, rather than to build stadiums, more social justice for the country.
In Sao Paulo, during the 2014 World Cup, many activities and parallel events took place, such as a parallel world cup played by lower class people (copa do Moinho) or the one played by social activists (copa Rebelde).
This, actually better represents the Brazilian's football spirit.
